Lithuania’s Arnas Kaunas wins the Est Am Open 2010 by KMPG

Arnas Kaunas has won the Estonian Amateur Open 2010 by KPMG, the biggest international golf tournament held in the Baltics.

England’s Steve Cronin finished second and Mark Suursalu was the best Estonian in third place.

Kaunas started the final day with a 4 shot lead from Suursalu, who remained in second position throughout the day. Sadly, he lost it to England’s Steve Cronin after taking a quadruple bogey 9 on the last. Kaunas finished with a 7 over par total of 223 shots, 6 ahead of both Cronin and Suursalu. Cronin earned second place due to his better score in the final round.

19. year old Arnas Kaunas, who led from the first round, said that the last day got him really exhausted. “Audience interest was big and my closest rival Suursalu put up a good fight until the last hole,” admitted Kaunas.
